Miss Grant, luxe Italian designer kids fashion previews winter 2012

One of the crossover brands from Italy between the old family companies and the newer funkier styles in the children’s fashion world is Miss Grant.

They always have a fashion show and this year made a big deal out of only allowing their own credited photographers to have cameras in the show presentation, although I spotted plenty of sneaky camera phones being used, especially at the finale for a record of all that was onstage.

Its a shame as its one of the catwalk presentations I love to photograph but I have a limited selection here I can show you which includes Grant Garcon, their new boys line too. In the age of live screening for a lot of fashion’s top designer names in womenswear it does seem a little out of date to be banning photographers from a kids fashion show.

Oliver + S paper sewing patterns for children’s clothes now at Liberty store in the UK.

Another great find at Liberty for creative parents who wander up to the fabrics floor are these wonderful paper patterns for kids from Oliver + S , a great selection of pretty cotton fabrics and some interesting sewing books too.

Only available usually in New York its great to see these in London and I just love the retro style covers. There is a whole counter devoted to kids sewing and style with additional items from the Knitlympics book with knitted star athletes and some quirky pretty peg dolls too.

For those of you out of the London area the Oliver + S book is also available at Amazon.

Scotch Shrunk children’s fashion from Amsterdam at a special event at Selfridges this Saturday, sneak a look at their a/w collection too.

The wonderful funky Dutch brand Scotch & Soda whose kids fashion range is a mini me of their adult collections is having a special event at Selfridges London this Saturday April 14th from 2-6pm.

Tying in to the theme of their summer collections of the deep seas there will be Facepainting, friendly pirates to meet and have photos taken with ( Ha Har! ) a pirate theme t-shirt design competition (winner’s design gets printed), cupcakes and more!

All customer purchases on the day will be automatically entered into prize draw to win a Scotch Shrunk or Scotch R’Belle outfit.

What’s more here is also a sneak preview of the fall/winter collection which will come into store at the end of the summer, along with some seaside pics of the summer.

This sounds spectacular, MiMisol fashion show on Sunday with 90 children at Gum in Moscow.

To celebrate the official opening of the 70 sq metre store of MiMisol in Gum, the huge dept store in Moscow there will be a fashion show this Sunday April 15th in the Demonstration Hall with 90 children modelling the spring summer MiMisol collection.

That’s got to be a must visit for all little girls and their mothers in Russia that love the feminine and exquisite party style of MiMisol.

There is a boys range too but this while still beautifully made is of a more classic nature and I can’t see the little boys so keen to sit still!

Designer Imelde Bronzieri was one half of the duo behind I Pinco Pallino and she has carried on the high standards achieved there with her new collection too. For a newly launched range this is a huge undertaking and I can’t wait to see the pictures from the show.

In the UK Childrensalon have a good range of MiMisol for the spring and summer.

Unusual illustrative visuals for Japanese children’s designer fashion brand Fäfä for fall/winter 2012

This unusual effect gives the look of an illustrated children’s book to the new visuals for the Japanese kids fashion label Fäfä for their fall/winter 2012 collection.

The label has a quirky feel with lots of extra details and mixes of stripes, pattern and texture within one outfit and the fantasy other world style of photography suits this label well. There is a shop in Toyko and an online selection that is frustratingly all in Japanese, Little Fashion Gallery stock some items but there is only a small selection in at the moment.
