Les Petits Vagabonds, spirited kidswear from a former fashion editor for summer 2013

New kids fashion label Les Petits Vagabonds was launched this summer by Duygu Hamdioglu, a former fashion editor and stylist at Marie Claire, Marie Claire Kids and Harpers Bazaar in Istanbul.

Having since moved to Barcelona she has now started her own childrenswear brand using vintage 1960′s and 1970′s vintage shapes updated for easier and more comfortable wear.

The summer 2013 collection is titled Postcards from Barcelona and features playful colours and patterns in limited editions.

Step2wo have produced some amazing kids shoes for the next autumn/winter season with Regency styling and buckled Swarovski decoration and a blocky square heel or crystal studded low heel loafers with a bar bow on top.

For the punk revival theme there are also great studded Dr Marten styles in flesh pink and Yves Klein blue as well as black, or for smoother operators a soft suede slipper studded with crystals for perfectly comfortable party wear. Tommy Hilfiger have updated their kidswear collections for this fall with some new inventive additions to their classic plaid and preppie vibe.

Mulitcoloured spotty sweaters and silk print tops and tromph l’oeil baby dresses with inset knitted necklines are just two of the additional tweaks which give this collection a new modern feel.

I especially like the new tailoring in boyswear, with a mini James Bond suit for any aspiring secret agents.

The Estonian kids fashion photographer Katrina Tang who I have worked with in the UK has made a new home for herself in New York and one of the first kids shoots she did there has now been published.

The March edition of Earnshaws carried this sweet country inspired story for its fall/winter previews. Styling was by Michel Onofrio.

Selfridges open a new concept store for Marni Kids fashion today.

Selfridges are opening today a new Marni Kids concept on the fourth floor of the London Store.

The interior concept, designed exclusively for Selfridges for the brand offers the most comprehensive collection of Marni kidswear in Europe. It has recently become one of the strongest performing brands at the store and for this summer features Marni signature patterns such as contrasting stripes, polka dots, hearts and florals.

Clothes and shoes from the collection can be bought both instore and online.
