Upcycled kids fashion at Bonpoint for SS20 with a new direction from recently appointed Creative Director Anne Valerie Hash who has a strong background in womenswear and childrens design from running her own eponymous label for 13 years.
Anne made a flash visit to London to showcase the new kids Spring/Summer 2020 collections and explained the story behind the new Bonpoint upcycled collection.
‘ When I first visited the workrooms at Bonpoint I noticed there were many leftover meters of Liberty fabrics from previous seasons. Rather than leave them as waste we decided to make a limited edition collection using these beautiful prints in a patchwork style and adding leftover lace as borders and pattern.’
There are only around 400 in each style and there are baby versions as well as for older kids, girls have floral patchwork pieces and boys checked shirting in blues and greens. The Upcycled collection will hit Bonpoint stores in mid January.
As well as doing their bit for the planet Bonpoint of course have some other beautiful pieces for the summer, for those that don’t know the label, the style is classic French chic with a modern twist. Quality that can be worn and passed down through a family or recycled to friends so well worth the slightly higher cost.
A ceremony collection in white and pastel shades has tulle and glittered pieces for girls and suiting for boys, a more casual daywear selection contains Native American decorative and design elements with some fabulous kids footwear and also an expanded Mommy and me selection which has perfect high summer dresses, blouses and PJ’s.
