Here are some early sneak peeks from the brands Balmain Pucci and Simonetta for spring/summer 2020 even though it feel as if summer hasn’t even started yet here in the UK, but for trade buyers and press summer 2020 is about to begin at Pitti Bimbo 89 on Thursday in Florence.
For Balmain the kidswear channels an identical boho ‘70s spirit as the adult line into its latest offerings for boys and girls.
Balmain Resort’s modern tattoo designs are added to variations of the house’s more familiar stripes, houndstooth and other monochromatic patterns.
In addition, the collection’s prints riff on the same compelling, bold and saturated colours of traditional Southwestern motifs.
For Pucci some new/old prints return, Bersaglio, Fiore Maya, Papillon, and Heliconia: these successful prints are used in mini me sizes reflecting the adult collection.
Fabrics include muslins, stretch cotton satin, seersucker, jersey or interlock also suitable for the perfect mini me beachwear.
For Simonetta, the classic Italian girlswear label their dresses are designed to be loved for years, handed down through the generations to express the authentic identity of Simonetta.
There’s optical white for party time with hints of pastel including tea rose, yellow and sea green.
The fabrics are light and impalpable: organza embroidered with ton-sur-ton appliqué flowers, or precious all-over micro sequins and beading; delicate seersucker checks and floral fil coupé are just some of the key references.
The casual side of the line has a deconstructed logo with flouro and metallic tones.
