Kenzo Kids fashion for fall/winter 2012, restraint is the name of the game for Kenzo this season

Whether it is the influence of the new design team at Kenzo adult, Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim or just a change of mood the children’s fashion collection for next fall/winter feels a little less decorative than the normal Kenzo riot of prints we know.

I really like the boy’s retro patterned sweaters but there’s a bit too much pink in the girlswear in general which I think is a mistake in this collection (sigh – I know it always sells well!). The pattern and prints are strong enough to carry a richer, deeper autumn palette than seen here this time.

Kenzo Kids fashion for summer 2012, hot on their signature tropical prints

A very pretty interpretation of the Kenzo signature tropical prints for summer 2012 children’s fashion, this time with a white background as a focus for many of the prints and Tahitian influenced styling. There is a new simplicity here but whether that can be attributed to the new Kenzo designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon from Opening Ceremony is unknown. Do watch the video with the two creative directors on the Kenzo website here, its really cute.

The girls range is a lot stronger than the boys but that is not unusual so I just picked the girls styles to show here and there is a good selection of other styles including baby here.

Kenzo Kids returns to ethnic inspirations for children's fashion for winter 2011

Good to see Kenzo returning to its original ethnic and highly patterned signature styling for their fall/winter children’s collection.

The girls is stronger than the boys selection but tell me when that isn’t the case! Girls just seem to have more fun even the teenies with their clothes and styling. The next time I see a really great boys collection I will be posting it straight away but I am afraid its jeans and stripes again for the boys here, although jolly good versions it must be said.

Kenzo Takada the original designer for the label Kenzo achieved his fame in the 1970′s with exotic mixes of exhuberant floral prints and the label has stayed true to his original inspiration.

We now hear that the womens design team led by Antonio Marras are having a strong input into the children’s lines starting with next winters ranges and can’t wait to see the results.

Apparently the buyers have not been so keen which makes me want to see it even more.

The summer is a great mix of floral patterns and strong colour with an exotic explorer feel, perfect for hot summer days and you can find them at all main dept stores and good children’s boutiques.

Lets hope there is more of the current good weather to come.
