Traditional kids footwear styles are the starting point for Young Soles who then put their own spin on the styles for kids in the modern world.
Their latest collection for fall/winter 2017 continues to blend retro-cool with classic British heritage styles, Young Soles founder, Louise Shill has gone back to the indie-inspired era of the late 1980s and early 1990s to evoke “Cool Britannia” childhood memories.
Influenced by the rise of non-branded, locally-produced fashion and vintage clothing during this era, Shill, describes her inspiration: “For me, “Cool Britannia” summons up the music of Oasis, Blur, Pulp and Suede, lots of denim and second hand stores, zip-up tops and suede shoes. For the shoot, we took up residence in a housing estate in east London for a few days, attempting to re-capture the effervescence of the youth at the time as they enjoyed the cultural renaissance that was taking place in London and across the UK.”
The shoes are designed in East London and made in Europe using the highest quality materials.
