Paade Mode kids catwalk trends show for fall 2017 was held as part of Riga Fashion week at the weekend.
Riga Fashion week is now in its 26th edition and has grown from just a few brands to a week’s presentation of mostly womenswear collections with a mix of designer labels from the Baltic states.
Its fabulous to see some of the brands I normally view on a clothes rail at a trade show presented on a full catwalk show with an incredibly professional selection of child models.
Paade Mode was founded in Riga, Latvia by its owner and head designer Linda Raituma four years ago. From the first collections Paade has received interest and positive feedback from international buyers and press. The label sources European fabrics and is made locally in Latvia.
The Paade Mode collection for fall/winter 2017 is titled World is Round and seeks inspiration from the depths of the winter woods, cultural and architectural legacy in conjunction with Gertrude Stein’s minimalist and modernist aesthetics in children’s literature. The collection imagines a world that is magic in its simplicity, ease and straightforward nature.
“The world is round. No beginning and no end. Never ending movement and circulation. Coming and going yet keeping faith in development and faith”
Special for this season is the limited edition collaboration with artist Brigita Stroda’s delightful handcrafted crowns.
