As always there were some new kids fashion launches at Pitti Bimbo 87 for SS19 and this season there were some cool marquise names from the world of womenswear adding to the designer kids fashion sector.
Chief amongst them was Alberta Ferretti who has had a long and distinguished career in womenswear, also Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini an offshoot of the Alberta Ferretti label which Lorenzo has designed since 2014 and which has a more retro vintage feel than the Ferretti main label which has always been about delicacy and soft colour tones.
Simonetta, a long established kids fashion label that changed hands around a year ago is now involved with the license for Balmain kids which had a small presentation at the world famous Florentine store Luisa via Roma for the FW18 collection.
These were joined by a revamp of the British label Nicki MacFarlane, known for outfitting the children of the upper classes in the UK, especially for weddings and christenings, with new owners in place the label is looking to move into the highly lucrative ceremony market on the continent.
