A sneak peek today at SS17 kidswear from WAWA, a new kids brand showing at CIFF Kids trade fair this week.
The show opens on Wednesday the 10th August and runs for 3 days in Copenhagen. In its new home in the Forum exhibition space the fair has been really developing, adding a new interiors section and increasing its visitor numbers.
WAWA are onto their second collection with AW16 just launched online, there’s a sneak peek at Summer 17 and a few select shots from the autumn collection below. The label was established in 2015 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is co-founded by Johanna Topooco, Sofie Ladegaard and Amanda Hestehave.
They describe the new collection as “flowers and fruits combining a wannabe-tough attitude of the early 1990s with a laid back flower power casualness of the 1960s as if Dr. Alban and the Mamas & Papas met in a jam session in the middle of a puppy rose field. When nature dresses up flowers pop out and while spring becomes summer fruits will slowly ripen. Therefore the WAWA spring/summer collection 2017 is called Flowers and Fruits”
The winter collection is titled Urban Indian and is a accolade to Multiculturism, Johanna’s father is originally from Bolivia and walks the streets of Copenhagen with her 4 yr old son with a feather in the band of his wide brimmed hat. All the collection is GOTS certified.
