Hooligans magazine animal themed kids fashion new issue ‘We are all Animals’ is now published and I’m featuring the cool Abi Campbell story with real animal models too!

The idea came to Abi from seeing an UK superstore store called ‘Pets at Home’ she says “I hired ‘animal man’ for my sons 8th birthday, so I knew they existed. However, it wasn’t easy to find one that would agree to a photoshoot as most insist on doing the animal handling themselves. Declan from Zoo 4 U was very open minded, whilst always protecting his animals welfare.

To make sure model Evie was ok on the day, especially with the Tarantula, Abi ran her through it all beforehand “Evie and I had a lot of communication prior to the shoot. I told her from the outset that she needed to mentally prepare herself for the tarantula on her face and if she wasn’t up to it, not to accept the job. Keeping it in position was difficult and she got a few hairs in her eyes but Evie more than rose to the challenge. I can’t imagine any other model being as professional as she was, she was an absolute warrior”

Don’t work with children or animals they say, Evie was great so how did the animals behave? “Tracey had to gift the dress worn in the skunk image to the model because it stank, the owl released its bowels on my carpet and the parrot flying across the living room took at least 7 attempts to capture. Aside from that….it was a breeze.
