Ethical conscious kids fashion from new brand Cosmosophie from Spain today.
Cosmosophie has a sustainable approach with slow fashion in mind, using quality materials and working closely with the manufacture of their collection to ensure fair payment to workers.
The clothes carry a certain nostalgic note, a subtle throwback to the frocks our grandmothers used to wear, to the care and attention they put in each detail and every finish. They seek to capture girlhood and the joy of trying out something new on a special day, something that you may remember wearing a few years down the line.
For them responsible fashion is a mission, a goal that they work towards as they aim to be as respectful as possible of the environment in the production of each piece of clothing. At Cosmosophie they aim to integrate the workshops, designers and seamstresses in the production chain as integral members of the team.
Clothes are manufactured with minimal environmental impact in mind. Each day they try to reduce the CO2 footprint by manufacturing in close proximity to Madrid and working with local suppliers and distributors.
Also by using fabrics that cause the minimum harm possible to the environment by carefully selecting fabric composition, by using organic cotton or recycled fibers, or by simply avoiding intense colouring that require toxic dying processes, the whole adds up to a sustainable and ethical approach.
As it is not always possible to use 100% organic fibers there is a cute detail with the labels attached to each garment which is its own DNA file, with a detailed description of the fabrics used and their origins. They produce small lots, limited edition or made-to-order pieces which are often elaborate and artisanal.
The collection is mainly girlswear between 4 years and 12 but there is also a small capsule for women with the same appreciation and colour as the childrenswear.
