Sustainable kids swimwear at Marks and Spencer joins the adult sustainable swim collection for summer 2019.
One of the few main big high st chains to be tackling modern concerns with an agenda to provide more vegan food options too, Marks and Spencer is looking at many ways into future retailing and adapting new initiatives.
The kids swimwear is made from recycled plastic. The plastics, from waste such as plastic bottles, are transformed into a polyester fibre that is durable and strong, ideal for all summer activities. The range has been endorsed by the British Skin Foundation with UPF 50+ sun protection.
Also new at M&S is a newborn and baby collection for irritated and sensitive skins that was unveiled at their high summer press event recently. Called ‘Dreamskin’ this uses innovative polymer technology to soothe and protect the skin, lower skin temperature and help reduce friction.
Softer threads and flat seams in the construction also help avoid irritation. At the moment the collection is mainly plain white with a couple of print pieces.
