Petersham Nurseries for Christmas 2012, so many pretty things!

I always make time for a visit to Petersham Nurseries before Christmas each year. It is one of the most inspiring places to visit both in the summer season and this time of the year.

Possibly the most tasteful Xmas decorations ever but also with a quirky vintage charm.

I noticed a post a couple of weeks ago from Bodie and Fou who paid a visit then and couldn’t help but be amazed by the display skills at the nurseries when I saw a wall that in their post had three vintage mirrors but on my visit, one having being sold had led to a display of mistletoe and a balancing Top Hat that looked as if it should have been there all along.

This year I added to my huge silver ball collection that I hang on my tree outside with a red and a green one since this years trend is all about colour!

Katrina Tang for Milk magazine Japan, a new kids fashion editorial story

Another great story shot in the woods by Katrina Tang the Estonian photographer who loves shooting children in natural landscapes.

This is for Milk magazine in Japan so won’t be seen by many of us in the Western world. The styling was by Mindi Smith with props by Alexandra Egan and the grooming was by Maria Secca.

Kids fashion photography by Estonian born Katrina Tang for the Times London.

A new story by Katrina Tang who has built a successful career in kids fashion photography after leaving her native Estonia and now spends most of her time between London and New York.

This is a sweet set of pictures showing winter 2012 kids designer fashion for the London Times magazine in a simple studio setting with the addition of a few favourite kids toy props. Katrina’s cool sensibility lends a natural feel to the unnatural situation of a photographic studio for the children involved.

Those who know their kids fashion well can play spot the designer here as there are some well known pieces featured by top designer names!

Rose pour le Garcon, beautiful graphic babygro’s and T-shirts from France.

I don’t often feature T-shirts and babygro’s but I think its because there are so many other gorgeous clothes out there for kids and babies that a T-shirt seems rather dull.

However I do love the graphics on these T’s and sleepsuits for little ones by Rose Pour Les Garcon from France, they are an ongoing unseasonal collection and the colours and designs are just delightful.

The collection is meant just for boys, hence in translation its ‘Pink for the Boys’ but I am sure some mums with girls will love them too, this is a very small company using organic cottons wherever possible and I hope they have the chance to grow as they are showing real potential.

If you go down to the woods today, you’ll find all kinds of Christmas decorations!

The woodland theme is out in force for this years Xmas decorations and gifts.

Never have I seen so much wildlife scattered across ornaments, cushions and tree hangings for Christmas. I blame the owls, that’s where it all started.

I covered the stags head trend here, now here is a look at some of the smaller wildlife available to fill our homes. Its a bit ironic really, if half of these actually came into the house over the festive season we would do all we could to get them back out into the cold again!
