Christmas 2012 – It’s a Stag thing

If there is one theme I saw again and again for Xmas 2012 it was the unmistakable shape of a Stags head. Nothing quite sums up Christmas like it, a Nordic and Scottish symbol for winter white landscapes.

Gorgeous Christmas at The White Company and The Little White Company

The White Company took over one of the most special houses in Soho for their Xmas 2011 preview. It is an old Georgian house where very little has altered over the years and all the old mouldings and fittings remain, truly atmospheric.

It is always good to see Christmas presented in real size rooms and the combination of the focus on white decorations with the old coloured walls worked well.

Goldenballs!

Fashion posts start again tomorrow but I passed this tree today and couldn’t resist posting a couple of shots.

The tree itself is rather sad in winter with few leaves left but spreads out wonderfully, as well as the huge golden globes on it there are lights wrapped around the trunk. I haven’t seen it at night this year but below is what they did with it last year with more lights on. I think they may have bought the huge globes at Petersham Nurseries as I saw some very similar there.

The globes just made me feel happy, so cheery on a cold winters day.
