Pinterest day today, the #pinitforwardUK campaign is well under way!

Pinterest is one of the fastest growing social networks on the web at the moment. No doubt all you tech savvy blog readers will have heard of it but just for those who haven’t it is a tool for collecting and organising photos of the things you love.

You can pin from the web just about any visual pictures you find, I use it to collect my children’s fashion photos and I have started to organise by season, I am just about to start a new board for spring/summer 2014 as the trade shows begin. I also use it to check out womens fashion and photography online. Follow my boards at Pinterest here.

I have a friend who redecorated her house using only Pinterest boards as inspiration and I know many designers who use it to make mood boards for work. Pins link back to the original source so you can also use it to track down clothes, toys or interior products that you love the look of. The result is a constant stream of inspirational pictures like these below, you can find beautiful or just weird and wonderful.

I also want to introduce a fellow blogger and her board to you, Katie from Modern Mummy who will be introducing her Pinterest board tomorrow. One of her boards is below,

Beautiful kids portraits from Sierra Leone by Ian Winstanley

Part of a project by photographer Ian Winstanley for World Vision to highlight the terrible problems of child marriage in Sierra Leone where girls as young as 12 are forced into marriage.

The photos are also a reflection of the hard 10 year civil war the country has endured and where at least for now the future looks a little brighter.

All in the family, new summer campaigns from Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and Benetton emphasise family life.

Dolce & Gabbana started the trend, using children in family scenarios set in their favourite  homeland of Sicily for their main fashion campaigns and it seems the group photo is catching on in a big way.

New summer campaigns from Tommy Hilfiger and Benetton feature family groups and Givenchy have given a starring role to model Mariacarla Boscono and her baby daughter.

Not to mention also the slightly surreal shots of Romeo Beckham and adult models for Burberry. Long may it carry on we say, its great to see kids fashion mixed in with the adults.

By the way, those gorgeous silk prints from Dolce & Gabbana are now available at Alex and Alexa and Childrensalon

Katrina Tang for Milk magazine Japan, a new kids fashion editorial story

Another great story shot in the woods by Katrina Tang the Estonian photographer who loves shooting children in natural landscapes.

This is for Milk magazine in Japan so won’t be seen by many of us in the Western world. The styling was by Mindi Smith with props by Alexandra Egan and the grooming was by Maria Secca.

Elisavet Tamouridou – The Photographers Gallery, what a great shot.

Love this split frame picture by graduate photographer Elisavet Tamouridou from the recent Fresh Faced and Wild Eyed exhibition.

She doesn’t specialise in children at all but this shows a brilliant imagination, it is titled View of Amasya, 2011 and is part of a series where she is retracing her family’s lost Greek history.
