Next summer children’s fashion actually looks a lot like this summer but brighter, bolder, more neon and more romantic too, if those can ever be said to go together.

Some of the highlights from the exhibition stands at Pitti Bimbo below. Sorry to be brief but I am now backtracking in time and viewing all the goodies for Christmas and they are long days!

Everywhere I look there are stripes coming into the stores now, here is a round up of some of the best examples of the way designers are refiguring stripes in kids fashion, mixing widths, colours, adding shapes and distorting them from Simonetta, Kidscase, Mini Boden and others.

Pitti Bimbo 74 children’s fashion trends for winter 2012 from the stands

There is so much to show you from Pitti Bimbo for next winters kids fashion that I am finding it a little hard to edit it all into a few concise posts, I have picked out some of the key trends as seen on exhibitor stands and I will be revisiting some of these labels with more depth later in the year.

All the leading trends are here, chunky knitwear, sixties influences, detachable collars, fur trims, lurex threads, strong colours such as teal, mustard, raspberry and purple, subtle tweeds and grey shades.

Mini-Me, Summer 2012 trend for children’s fashion from top designers to the chainstores.

I have never seen so many Mini-Me versions in kids fashion as I have for the coming summer season. From the top designers down, there are a huge amount of almost exact replica clothing items coming out.

I noticed in the winter collections from Stella McCartney and Chloe quite a few of these items but next year its gone bonkers!

Burberry, Tata Naka, Juicy Couture, Milly and Boden are featured here but also look out for more Chloe Mini-Me’s, Missoni, D&G and of course the Lanvin dresses that even have matching dolls too, Mini-mini-Me!

Missoni sneak preview summer 2012 childrenswear, while those in USA can buy Target special range for a/w 2011

I am just going to have to make a visit to the US this year having seen the amazing range Missoni have produced for Target which will be in stores from September 13th, just not fair we can’t get in in the UK. There is kidswear, womenswear, homewear and even a bicycle seen in US Vogue.

There is also a Missoni for Target pop up store opening for one night only on September 8th at 1095 Sixth Avenue near Bryant Park that is sure to be mobbed for some of the 400 items available in the line.

We can buy Missoni main line here though and for kids fashion next summer there is an amazing range of their signature knit pieces from bikinis to kaftans and teddy bears all in signature bright colours and pattern mixes which reflect the main womenswear range.
