M&S have got themselves a brilliant kids fashion collection for fall 2013

We knew there was a new design element coming to the Marks and Spencer kids fashion collection in line with all the changes to the adults and the new team at M&S have pulled off a brilliant first seasons children’s collection.

All the trend elements from the designer brands are represented with brocade fabrics, vibrant colour blocking, geometric prints and woodland themes present. The price point has not changed from last season so it is all reasonably accessible.

The change in the babies selection is stunning, with beautiful soft pinks and caramels tones or vivid splash prints replacing the lurid pink embroidered items of recent seasons.

Readers will have to wait till July for the new fall styles to filter in but keep an eye out as the best items are sure to sell out in superquick time.

Strong trend elements for Marks and Spencer winter 2012 kids fashion collections

Marks and Spencer held a winter preview last week but with all the excitement with Bubble London I haven’t been able to post till now.

There were some really fab items, showing that the design team are making a huge effort with the children’s ranges, I loved the French chic of the soft plummy colours, silvers and lace touches for girls and the bright cheery colours and patterns with Nordic influences in babywear, as well the most interesting plaid shirt I’ve seen this season which had a print overlay of white lace edging.

A bit of Diamond Jubilee flag waving from M&S for high summer in the UK, some cute kids clothes too.

Apologies to readers not living in the UK but its going to be a bit of a flag ridden summer this year, I hope at least it amuses you to see the craziness.

Presenting us with their Diamond Jubilee celebrations and Olympic specials was Marks and Spencer who last week got out the bunting and the cupcakes for their high summer collections. Quite who would want to sleep in a Union Jack decorated bed I don’t know but I have to say it did look very jolly!

The children’s fashion was distinctive with both bright vibrant prints and block colour, a sweet vintage floral top and a traditional with a twist nautical section of designs from Northumbria University competition winner Alice North.

Marks and Spencer presented their high summer ranges last week.

The childrenswear was brightly coloured with lots of special details, sequins, jewels, embroidery both real and printed fabric versions and applique ruffles.

Boys had plenty of sharp checks and floral baggy swim pants, strong accessories included a white straw panama hat and some cool converse style unlaced trainers.

In other words – perfect holiday gear, if only the warm weather seemed closer.
