There was a clutch of inspiring new exhibitors this season at Bubble London which is always a good sign. Some innovative cutting and some beautifully crafted clothes for children.

Liberty florals and neutral shades are still popular and small details often give the little extra that defines an item as special.

A bright and breezy day for the opening of the Bubble London kids fashion trade fair. Some really interesting new exhibitors and some of the established brands developing strongly as we go into the summer 2012 season for buying.

So much there and such variety that I have divided the report into 3 parts, today focuses on all the strong colour that is around. Vibrant colour in primaries and tropical hues, plain and floral prints which nicely balance the softer tones of the old school Liberty lawn cottons and nostalgic influences also prominent.

Other key trends seen are the importance of details, collar tabs, sequin patches, tulle appliques, special buttons, personal prints and pleated edges and underskirts. Some labels have experimented with construction with jagged edges and asymmetrical multi layering too.
