A strong showing for CPH Kids fair again, probably the most relaxed of all the trade fairs I go to. It was great to have a little fashion show this time too showing a range of exhibitors clothing for the 2013 season of children’s fashion.

In general the colour palette was similar to last year with only a few nods towards the neon trend, as a taster to lots of grey marl, black and other neutral tones. Yellow and green are both popular with many exhibitors at this trade fair as well as softer pastels and sorbet shades.

Shapes are beginning to look oversized but there is a strong waisted look to dresses and puffed shorts, all in one playsuits and skinny trousers rule overall. There are not too many extra details on the clothes here but fringing is creeping in round hems and on scarves.

There was a strong interiors showing with Scandi brands Lucky Boy Sunday and Sebra joined by Rice Interiors and even Katvig had used some of their signature prints for oversized round cushions.

Modeerska Huset, a cute little brand from CPH Kids and a cute story too, kids fashion for summer 2013

Jenny Modéer the founder and designer for Modeerska Huset has a very interesting way with a printed textile as her latest collection at CPH Kids for summer 2013 shows.

I loved her very first collection shown in 2011 and her hand drawn prints are a delight. The company has since moved to organically sourced cotton and production and is now GOTS certified which leaves little room for fancy trims and production but the leggings and T-shirts she produces are the very foundations of dressing in her native Sweden.

Delightfully she told me this latest collection was put together in a rush as she has recently fallen in love and was a little bit pre-occupied this spring! The collection features two love struck squirrels and an angry dog, so heavens knows what was on her mind at the time!

What I do know is that she is a very talented print designer and I look foreward to the next progression of her work.

CPH Kids Copenhagen fashion show for summer 2013 children’s designer fashion trends.

It was a first for the coolest Scandinavian fashion Trade fair CPH Kids in Copenhagen. An Exhibitors fashion show with some of the top trend led children’s fashion brands within the exhibitors hall and was open to any and all who happened to be there at the time.

The kids held boards that answered the question ‘If you could define the future what would you do” and the show was linked to the successful project CPH Kids run with the Red Cross Youth project in Denmark.

I will cover the trends in more detail later in the week but here is a peek at some of the main brand styles for summer 2013 kidswear.

I Dig Denim is a particularly cool kids denim brand from Gothenberg in Sweden. The designer Hanna Clavegard loves denim and has based her collection on the premise that the kids bring the personality to the clothes and she supplies the foundation, a really great pair of denims to wear.

The range which started with toddler ages in 2010 now features teen sizes too and is made with a rugged worn look that reflects the western shores of the Swedish coast.

I love just how Scandi the photoshoot for the 20-13 collection looks, I Dig Denim will be exhibiting at CPH Kids this week from Thursday 9th August.

New Generals winter 2012, the first children’s fashion show for CPH Kids in Copenhagen

I was wondering how New Generals would pull off a catwalk show for their children’s collection since so much of the collection is simple cotton jersey which draws its strength from the graphic element of the designs but I actually think they pulled it off pretty well looking at these shots.

I sadly was shooting at a nearby location also within the Carlsberg location where CPH Kids is based so I didn’t see the show but there was a general agreement it had been a successful event. Judge for yourself below;
