A massive hit of colour for winter 2012 from Sonia Rykiel Enfant children’s fashion collection

Echoing many of the trends seem this week at the latter part of London Fashion Week is the winter 2012 kids collection by Sonia Rykiel Enfant and perhaps an indication of what might be coming from Paris too in the way of strong colour.

Still with the black echoes and the signature stripes of the Rykiel line this is however one of the brightest winter collections I have ever seen.

Even boys get in on the fun with a bright multicoloured sweater too.

My Little Dress Up, a cute story for their beginning, a second season next winter for this kids fashion brand

My Little Dress Up exists because the designers once made a dress for a little girl they knew in memory of the special party dresses that had been given when they were young. The little girl Lola became the company model and now this children’s fashion label is showing its second season for winter 2012 kidswear.

Based on a nearly couture concept with high quality fabrics and excellent make from a high end Atelier, the label which is based in the Netherlands is growing slowly with a range of special party and event items for 2-10 years old girls and boys.

Here is their first summer collection and some previews from winter 2012 which they exhibited for the first time at Kleine Fabriek in January as well.

Bonnie Young preview for kids fashion winter 2012, muted colour and mixed textures bang on trend for next winter’s fashion

New York based designer Bonnie Young always has the most beautiful children’s fashion collection, it is sophisticated and is for the pre-teen – teen age group so it is not a surprise that she has started an adult sized line too.

The stunning range for next winter has a soft no-colour colour feeling with washed out greens, greys, brown and off white shades that remind me a lot of some of the clothes I have been seeing at the London Fashion Week this weekend.

The studded leathers, ruched and twisted satins, fur banded hems, textured and fringed wools are bang on adult trend too and the pop of flourescent now and then completes the collection perfectly.

The adult versions will contain the same fabrics and styling as this children’s line, this is not an easily affordable collection but it is truly desirable and would suit suit customers from Russia and the East very well.

In the UK it is just available at Harvey Nichols kids boutique run by Step 2wo.

Teeny Tini, cute handmade crochet animals and rugs with a retro feeling for kids play.

Teeny Tini made by JK Lange started as a label for children’s clothing made from random lengths of knitted and crochet threads but when I saw it at Playtime Paris this season there seems to have been an evolution into play rugs and toys which suit her hand made and vintage look ethic perfectly.

I love the big face Gandalph rug, such a personality and the loopy knit hedgehogs and stuffed quirky animals have a genuine ‘just picked it up at the flea market feel’ without the hours of searching it would take to find something this perfectly retro.

I think its a great new direction and will watch to see what further products issue from this line.

Giant hats, a winter 2012 trend for kids too, check out these beauties.

Something looked familiar about the Marc Jacobs brilliant winter 2012 fashion show, ahh yes, it was the giant hats, last seen on a kids catwalk in Pitti Bimbo, Florence for winter 2012 childrenswear.

I loved his mix of eccentric giant hats and lurex, brocade and chunky knits, all seen on the catwalk at Pitti Bimbo too. Here is a selection of the obvious perfect accessory for next winter from Twin-Set Girl, Monnalisa, Francomina Mini, Miss Blumarine and Waddler.
