Little Troll and a lot of little collars, kids minimal dressing up style for winter 2013

I really like the minimal style of British kidswear brand Little Troll and the graphic simple dresses for girls they produce.

With a collection based on just 7 main dress shapes they are able to ring the changes through fabric use and accessorising using a great range of collars and belts in different prints and colours. The idea of the collection is to make a little go a long way.

For next winter children’s collection there are monochrome prints which follow the trends in womenswear fashion and strong solid colours such as red, petrol blue and mustard as well as a chic Parisian style silver grey.

Deluna Kids, an all British company with a classic twist to kidswear.

Spanish Mum Luca who has settled in the UK with her two children after many travels and a former career as a TV Producer launched Deluna Kids in 2010 with the premise of limited runs, almost made to order and using adaptations of vintage patterns which is how Mary Quant once started in the 60′s!

The summer collection is all about Paris in the Spring but for next fall/winter the inspiration comes from the Somerset countryside with plaids, tweeds and quilting and what Luca terms Stable Punk chic!

There are also great party dresses with gold sequin fronts and deep velvet colours. Bindings and small details are added in contrast colours and both tweed and lame patches are used on jackets and pants.

The collection is based on girlswear from 18 months to 7yrs and fall / winter 2013 is previewed below.

Gravel+Grass, a new kids fashion label from London for spring 2013 with an understated touch

Gravel+Grass is a new London based children’s wear brand created by lifelong friends Kate McIlwain and Catriona Drummond with a view to creating an understated great quality children’s luxury brand with beautiful fabrics and a classic timeless quality.

Kate trained as a designer with the London College of fashion and has spent many years working as a designer abroad in both New York and Brazil, Catriona has worked for Simon Fuller’s 19 Management for the past 20 years and was involved in the successful launch of both Victoria Beckham’s luxury womenswear label and David Beckham’s bodywear range, obviously managing ego’s is not a problem for her!

The collection is manufactured all in the UK using quality fabrics from the UK and France and is for ages 2-10 years old. No doubt we will be seeing little Harper Beckham in some of these styles soon.

The first available dress to buy will be at Elias and Grace for a pre-season Christmas special and will retail around £89.

My favourite pieces of Burberry kids fashion collection Fall / Winter 2012

Cold, wet, windy, oh yes the seasons have changed here in the UK and I’ve been taking a break from next summer and re-looking at the fall / winter children’s fashion collections to spot my favourite pieces from the top brands. Today’s spotlight is on Burberry, starting with the chicest baby dress ever below.

Burberry runs two collections, one is exclusive pieces sold in their own stores, one is wholesaled throughout the world to other outlets which is where these pieces come from. Childrensalon and Alex and Alexa both carry a great selection of Burberry’s kids collections.
