I am loving the big striped handknit looks in this new kids collection from American Outfitters.

Part punk and part preppy, the label has its influence in the classic US preppie styles but it can’t help but add some European quirky touches in there too. Shearling jackets are looking like a huge trend this year for kids, whether they are in real skin or fake and the skinny jean is still the trouser shape of choice.

Pitti Bimbo 74 children’s fashion trends for winter 2012 from the stands

There is so much to show you from Pitti Bimbo for next winters kids fashion that I am finding it a little hard to edit it all into a few concise posts, I have picked out some of the key trends as seen on exhibitor stands and I will be revisiting some of these labels with more depth later in the year.

All the leading trends are here, chunky knitwear, sixties influences, detachable collars, fur trims, lurex threads, strong colours such as teal, mustard, raspberry and purple, subtle tweeds and grey shades.

American Outfitters sneak preview for summer 20132 kids fashion collection

Some very cute shots here from the Belgium brand American Outfitters children’s fashion collection for next summer. There is a relaxed vibe and a California surfy hang out feel to this collection, note the animal portrait T-shirts appearing again, seems like the theme of next summer for kidswear. Interesting as I remember D&G Junior had some great ones for last summer in their safari section.

I adore the cute cartoon cat in orange too, reminds me of Top Cat the old kids cartoon show and one of my all time favourites.

American Outfitters winter 2011 groove for children's fashion

The key items from American Outfitters kids fashion range for winter 2011 are the baby bird print cardigan for girls, the rare groove vinyl LP printed T- shirt for boys and the casual ambience of soft washed denim pieces and sharp hooded tops.

This Belgium brand is going from strong to stronger in the casual wear kids market.
