Special projects and preview - Pitti Bimbo is increasingly international in scope: out of the 450 expected collections, 177 will be from abroad! We had over 7.200 buyers and a total of more than 10.000 visitors at the last winter edition of the show. Pitti Bimbo, the only trade fair in the world that presents a complete overview of children’s fashion is also an extraordinary platform for presenting new lifestyle trends for kids: scouting, research and selectivity are the fair’s key concepts. And, at this edition, with the aim of attracting ever more international buyers, the event will broaden its focus to include the worlds of accessories and design, reflecting the developments in an industry that is undergoing massive transformations. From the big names and their collections in the Pitti Bimbo section to the creativity of the independent brands in the New View and EcoEthic sections, from the sportswear at Sport Generation to the urban atmosphere of SuperStreet and the avant-garde styling at Apartment all the way to accessories, toys and furnishings for the littlest set.
The new names, special projects and reentries at this edition include: Bikkembergs, Gusella IKKS Junior, Lili Gaufrette, Little Eleven, Melissa, MSGM, Patrizia Pepe and Trudi.

ROCK ME PITTI, the theme for January
How much music is there in fashion? And how much fashion is there in music? “With ROCK ME PITTI, the theme for this season’s Pitti fairs”, says Agostino Poletto, deputy general manager of Pitti Immagine, “Pitti is dropping a virtual coin into a sparkling global jukebox that produces sounds, words and images, entertainment and emotions, business and creativity. To do with music what we always do with fashion: choose the best, the newest, the most interesting and reinterpret it with our unique style to offer our visitors a dimension of pleasure and entertainment”. During Pitti Bimbo, the strategic spots on the Fortezza da Basso grounds – like the Apartment and New View sections as well as the program Alternative Set - will be enlivened by performances and installations, images and cult objects related to the world of music, to the echoes of a new sound, presenting the varied spirit of fashions for kids – a song that Pitti Bimbo sings so well. Pitti Bimbo and the Pop Up Stores make room for design!
The Pitti Bimbo section is a fascinating tour that goes from big brand fashions all the way to luxurious clothes for infants: elegance and tradition interpreted in a contemporary key and presented in “just for children” versions, with an eye on “grownup” fashions. The offering in the Main Pavilion’s is richer than ever, with more and more products that are part of children’s lifestyle fashions: jewelry, fragrances, eyewear, books, bags and travel accessories along with furnishing accessories, toys and design items. And, the new Pop Up stores are devoted to the world of design with a selection of goods presented according to the new rules of the exhibition game: international styling that goes beyond clothing fashion to anticipate new looks.
The new names at this edition: Bea Legami Preziosi, Blui, Caco Design, Carla Perretti, Le Bebe Coo/Coo Club, Little Bu Nail Polish, MF Cosmetici, Nupkeet, Passapò, rò-rò, Saphire Bebé Couture e Zoobug-Children’s Eyewear.

PITTI.COM multiplies opportunities by doing business online. e-Pitti.com is back in January with the online version of Pitti Bimbo 78. At e-Pitti.com business opportunities carry on for an entire month after the trade exhibition closes. Buyers, certified by Pitti Immagine, have access to a multilingual platform where they can visit Pitti Bimbo’s exhibitor stands having the possibility to review all the collections. Fall Winter 2014/15 trends will be available to users with more than 50,000 images and 1,000 videos of products completely in high definition.
A fashion week for children: the runway shows and events
Pitti Bimbo is also a pintsized fashion week, and owes its success to the many presentations, runway shows and cultural events that enliven each edition of the fair. The runway shows, have a huge following: they launch the season’s trends and offer useful ideas about styling and accessorizing clothing. And, these communications projects are flanked by events and performances that involve the whole city. Here are some of the names that will be coming down the catwalks: Miss Blumarine, Miss Grant, Quis Quis Designed by Stefano Cavalleri, Twin-set Girl, Fun & Fun and KidSpace. Plus, on the evening of Thursday 16 January, Monnalisa will be organizing a runway show to present the brand’s latest collections to the press and clients.

Buyers / visitors - 10,000 attended the fair. Over 7,200 buyers came to the last winter edition, 2,700 (37,5% of the total) were from abroad. Main foreign markets: Russia, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Great Britain, France, Belgium, Holland, Japan, Ukraine, Switzerland, Greece, United States, Poland, China, South Korea and Brazil.
