Habitat rolls out into Homebase, winter 2013 sneak preview of this newly accessible collection.

Homebase showed off its new collection for winter 2013 last week with a romp through the homes of Sherlock Holmes and the Mad Hatters tea party.

One of the key elements of the new collections is a huge range of new wallpapers with monochromatic oriental prints and graphic fake bookshelves prints amongst the most striking.

Habitat will have a section devoted to itself in the store and the name ranges look pretty sharp under new director Polly Dickens. In mustard, Yves Klein blue and pillarbox red mixed with grey tones the designs are graphic and striking for the winter season ahead.

Beautiful outdoor living display at Liberty London Store plus new Donna Wilson tableware.

Such a stunning display in Liberty London store for the opening of their summer outdoor living area, not that there is much summer around in the UK today!

Customers have apparently already been asking to buy the amazing living chairs, books and glass globes from the display so Liberty might have to do something about that and turn the display team into manufacturers too!

There is a ton of great things to buy as well of course, it being Liberty and the classic floral print is used by Wild and Wolf for an amazing collection of watering cans, thermos flasks, tool sets etc.

On the floor below there is a new display for Donna Wilson’s ceramic table plates and very gorgeous they are too.

Great child inspired textile prints from kids wallpaper experts Hibou Home for spring 2013.

Beautiful pictures and some very chic childlike textile prints here from British brand Hibou Home who are known for their wallpaper prints which began in 2011.

This collection for spring 2013 introduces three of their popular wallpaper prints prints for their debut home woven fabric collection for children. Enchanted Wood with woodland sihouettes, Cactus Cowboy, a chic variation on the classic cowboy theme and Gymkhana which comes in pink as well as purple to keep traditional girly tastes happy!

Petersham Nurseries for Christmas 2012, so many pretty things!

I always make time for a visit to Petersham Nurseries before Christmas each year. It is one of the most inspiring places to visit both in the summer season and this time of the year.

Possibly the most tasteful Xmas decorations ever but also with a quirky vintage charm.

I noticed a post a couple of weeks ago from Bodie and Fou who paid a visit then and couldn’t help but be amazed by the display skills at the nurseries when I saw a wall that in their post had three vintage mirrors but on my visit, one having being sold had led to a display of mistletoe and a balancing Top Hat that looked as if it should have been there all along.

This year I added to my huge silver ball collection that I hang on my tree outside with a red and a green one since this years trend is all about colour!

10 Christmas wreaths from the streets of London for Xmas 2012

A beautiful sunny morning a couple of days ago led me to search out this year’s Christmas wreaths and see what the popular trends were for this year in South West London.

Silver seems to have replaced gold for the glittery ones and while the red and green classic berries and pine styles are still predominant I love the few more individual customised styles I found this year with the Gingerbread cookie wreath a particular favourite and winner of my Martha Stewart award this season!

On the whole there seems to be a little more budget cutting this season with wreaths a bit smaller than last year and a little less decorative too, check out last years selection here.
