WGSN name the Top Ten blogs for kidswear inspiration for 2012 and Smudgetikka is one of them!

I am indeed a happy bunny this week as I discovered Smudgetikka has made it into the new WGSN list of the Top Ten blogs for Kidswear inspiration.

WGSN is the world leader in fashion trend forecasting and to make it into their top ten is a great privilege. They guide and predict for most of the big designer names in the business and are excellent at it.

Indikidual, a firm favourite at the kidswear trade shows has a quirky cool style for summer 2013 kids fashion.

Its nice to find a quirky cool collection that focuses on the younger children’s age range, Indikidual covers the 3 months to 7 year age range with clothing designed to be layered and worn expressively as the child pleases.

The inspiration is varied as designs from Russian architecture mix with banana prints and 70′s retro T-shirt fringing straight from the beaches of Ibiza.

It was a label that won universal praise from bloggers and buyers at the last round of trade shows and won the Bubble ‘stand out stand’ award for their presentation at the London trade show.

They will be exhibiting their a/w 2013 collection at Kleine Fabriek 13th/14th Jan 2013, taking a room at the Hotel Roma in Florence for 16th /17th/18th Jan while Pitti Bimbo is on, at Bubble London 27th / 28th Jan and Playtime New York 9th/10th/11th March.

In a season of colour Oilily kids fashion for summer 2013 hits the spot.

Known for their vibrant colour palette and fokloric floral prints, summer 2013 was never the season that Dutch kids fashion label Oilily held back.

As you can see below the colours and prints are strong sometimes with a retro feel, particularly for the adult collection but mostly just very sweet and cheerful.

Have a peek at their website as the winter season collection looks are a pretty cool photoshoot too.

Katrina Tang for Milk magazine Japan, a new kids fashion editorial story

Another great story shot in the woods by Katrina Tang the Estonian photographer who loves shooting children in natural landscapes.

This is for Milk magazine in Japan so won’t be seen by many of us in the Western world. The styling was by Mindi Smith with props by Alexandra Egan and the grooming was by Maria Secca.

Brrrr, the colds coming in, hope you have the kids UGG Australia boots ready!

A focus on shearling today not just because I saw a preview of what is coming next spring/summer 2013 for UGG Australia but also because I know in the freezing weather there is nothing more snug than a sheepskin lined boot.

The range of styles now is amazing with even the kids fashion ranges which started out quite basic having a ton of fancy detailing and styles which vary from ankle to knee high and from combat lace ups to multi-coloured metallic shine.

Next summer new espadrille soles are launched which when combined with the comfort of a shearling lining for little ones makes you wonder why nobody thought of this before.
