Budget Baby, surprisingly good baby fashion from BHS for spring 2013.

The British High St stores have really raised their game over the last few years and with so little spare money around there are plenty of budget buys that can stretch the finances and allow for a little designer indulgance mixed in with a pragmatic approach to the High St.

I was recently wowed by the baby fashion at BHS, while the chains all seem to be doing great things for the 2-8 year age range sometimes the baby end seems to be left in a previous era with girls in soft pinks and Liberty style but not quite florals. Have a look at these zippy baby styles from BHS for next summer which couldn’t be more on trend!

MiMiSol – The most beautiful little girls dresses in the world for spring/summer 2013.

Imelde Bronzieri is the designer of MiMiSol and was for a very long time one half of the partnership that produced the well known I Pinco Pallino childrenswear label, one of Italy’s premier kids fashion labels and specialists in beautiful and smart children’s dressing up items.

She stepped out with her own label MiMiSol a year ago and some of the stunning summer 2013 collection can be seen below. The collection has boyswear too and tends towards the dressy occasion element which is such a vital part of Italian life.

Interestingly her previous co-designer Stefano Cavalleri is also launching his new collection at Pitti Bimbo in a weeks time with an fall preview that will feature in a kids catwalk show at the fair titled ‘Quis Quis and From the World’.

All eyes will be looking to see what they both deliver for Winter 2013/14.

Pioneer kids fashion designer Anne Kurris and her mega flouro collection!

Always one of my favourite collections to see at the Trade fairs Belgium designer Anne Kurris has a fantastic collection for children this spring summer featuring many flouro items which she pioneered in kidswear well over a year ago.

Shot by kids specialist photographer Achim Lippoth they have used the colour theme playfully with a fairly cheap prop, millions of neon plastic straws, top marks for invention here.

Anne’s clothes always have a playful element but she is always one of the first with a new trend having used both photoprints of animals and metallics before they became mainstream in kidswear. There is a great selection of the winter animal T-shirts on sale at both Childrensalon and Alex and Alexa.

WGSN name the Top Ten blogs for kidswear inspiration for 2012 and Smudgetikka is one of them!

I am indeed a happy bunny this week as I discovered Smudgetikka has made it into the new WGSN list of the Top Ten blogs for Kidswear inspiration.

WGSN is the world leader in fashion trend forecasting and to make it into their top ten is a great privilege. They guide and predict for most of the big designer names in the business and are excellent at it.

Indikidual, a firm favourite at the kidswear trade shows has a quirky cool style for summer 2013 kids fashion.

Its nice to find a quirky cool collection that focuses on the younger children’s age range, Indikidual covers the 3 months to 7 year age range with clothing designed to be layered and worn expressively as the child pleases.

The inspiration is varied as designs from Russian architecture mix with banana prints and 70′s retro T-shirt fringing straight from the beaches of Ibiza.

It was a label that won universal praise from bloggers and buyers at the last round of trade shows and won the Bubble ‘stand out stand’ award for their presentation at the London trade show.

They will be exhibiting their a/w 2013 collection at Kleine Fabriek 13th/14th Jan 2013, taking a room at the Hotel Roma in Florence for 16th /17th/18th Jan while Pitti Bimbo is on, at Bubble London 27th / 28th Jan and Playtime New York 9th/10th/11th March.
