Baines and Fricker, sweet wallpaper for pet lovers this Easter.

A quickie post today as it is the Easter holidays and while I haven’t found anything duck related I do like these simple wallpapers from new British design company Baines and Fricker.

For a child with a beloved cat, dog or pet bird these are great stylish and quirky prints from this husband and wife team who produce from a workshop on the south coast of England. Their Harris tweed rocker was a finalist in 2011 for best new product at the 100% Design fair and their simple Dolls House is the most minimal I’ve ever seen.

Steve Baines has been a furniture maker for a number of years and Eliza Fricker is an illustrator and screenprinter, together their philosophy for the company is that things for the home should be made to last and worth keeping and they like to rework everyday items as seen in their new take on the fruit crate.

Another cracking collection of kids toys and T’s from Corby Tindersticks to be shown at Bubble London

A preview of the Autumn/winter 2013 collection from the incredible design team at Corby Tindersticks which will be showing at Trade show Bubble London this Sunday 27th and Monday 28th January.

The colours are great and so on trend for kids fashion at the moment and the quirky individual character toys are a relief for mums who steer clear of any Disneyfication in their offsprings lives and wherever possible items are ethically sourced too.

Paul Smith Christmas 2012 goodies – dig these painted creatures

Paul Smith showed off a limited selection of Christmas goodies last week which included these mad painted kids toy animals. Made in new York and sold as collectable art objects you may like to have a go at this yourself. I love that spotty Giraffe, very much the pattern of the season!

Other goodies on display included a fantastic sledge, a mad adult scooter, great patterned woolies and cute leather finger puppet key rings amongst all the luxe adult clothing.

Amazing abstract kids knitted and moulded fashion collection from talented post grad student Caroline Bosmans

Children’s fashion designer Caroline Bosmans graduated last year from the renowned Fashion Academy in Belgium SASK with a pretty amazing and award winning collection of children’s fashion I previewed here.

You would have though it difficult to top these pieces but her new collection called FRANZZZ from her post grad studies is even more amazing. Dark and deep and inspired by the Franz Kafka novel Die Verwandlung (The Metamorphosis) these disturbing pieces reflect the story with knitted works of different parts of the body which turn into a bug at the end. Makes an alternative to Disney bugs that’s for sure!

Finally it dissolves, the whole collection has been made with different materials and textures and different techniques showing all her knowledge. It is also not hard to see how with a little adaption these could become amazing pieces for a more commercial line. Contact Caroline at her website
