Keeping traditional and artisan skills alive, new label Si+Lu produce handmade children’s clothes in Ireland

Si+Lu is a kidswear label set up to work exclusively with Irish craftspeople, utilising handwoven tweed from Donegal, alpaca and merino yarn dyed in Kilkenny and handknitting and sewing by retired skilled workers at home throughout the country.

Set up by Lucy Clarke, a musician and composer Simon O’Connor, Si+Lu is a contemporary take on traditional styles and crafts for boys and girls to wear. The label is ethically made as the carbon footprint is so low and the workers are given 25-30% of the total cost of the item.

Items are made to order and the line is only available online from Si+Lu with items from baby to 8yrs available.
