With some of the cosiest warmest winter warmer items around Petit Nord from Copenhagen who specialise in real sheepskin and leather items have the hats, gilets, shoes and blankets to cope with a big freeze anywhere.
It may be an Indian summer right now but with the weather as unpredictable as it has been lately who knows if we may be into freezing temperatures again soon! There is fur which is a bit taboo in the UK but also shearling and Mongolian lamb which are far more acceptable. Scandinavians are more used to the use of fur as their winters are just so damn cold. Childrensalon have a selection in stock now including the helmets in antique gold or silver which are very yummy.
Anders Hald who knows a thing or two about photographing children has made some lovely portraits featuring the best of Petit Nord’s luxe and lovely collection.

Hi
My daughter got a pair of Petit Nord shoes as a gift.
Apparently they are made out of Seal skin.
To me, this was quite shocking.
As I cannot find any contact details for the company, I would like to leave a comment here, if anyone can guarantee that these seals on my daughters feet were not beaten to death with a stick?
A worried mother…
I have no idea about that and I won’t see anyone from the brand till I am in Copenhagen next February but I will be sure to ask them then. There should be a contact email at least on their site though. I imagine all their skins are byproducts of other farming and the seal skins may be from the Faroe Islands, I would not know how they are killed but if you are producing kids items you normally are quite careful about sources.
