So off to 33 Portland Place last night, the now infamous house location that featured both in The Kings Speech and a porn movie and whose owner was recently jailed 7 years for fraud.
However someone is still looking after the house as last night as it was packed with Rob Ryan fans for the launch of his new book, A Sky Full of Kindness. They were queuing 40+ in a line to buy a first edition copy and the original paper cuts were on display in the distressed rooms used in The Kings Speech as vocal coach Lionel Logue’s consulting practice.
The paper cuts were as gorgeous as you would expect but I have to admit after a long day on my feet I didn’t have the stamina to join the rapidly lengthening queue for a copy of the book so I will have to look at my leisure at a later date. The story is about two birds about to become parents for the first time and their hopes and fears about the world in which they live.
