I’ve been meaning to write about Universal Works for a while but I needed a good excuse to feature some menswear and Father’s Day is the perfect one.
Set up by the talented David Keyte who some in the children’s fashion industry might remember as the owner of the cool Nottingham kids store Obi many moons ago with his partner Stephanie. Since then David whose background was with Paul Smith has spent enough years travelling to and from Indian factories for the frankly quite weird Hardy Blechman of Maharishi to know how to go it all alone and has produced this great menswear collection based on authentic workwear styles which will suit men of all ages but is pretty cool as well.
I especially like his use of the older male model, refreshing in these days of expected perfection. The quality and make is paramount here, the point is not fashion but style, especially that added by the owner.
Sold through websites My Wardrobe.com and Coggles.com as well as many independent boutiques look out for the name as this is a rising label. Also just in is a preview of the A/W 2011 collection, see it here on HypeBeast

Totally agree.
My boyfriend always complains there is no designer really designs clothes for man.
This will fit him.
