Japanese children’s fashion from Bellieboo a new online store

Bellieboo is a new online store specializing in imported Japanese fashion for girls 1-12 years old. Boys are planned  to be added later in the year.

Founded by a Japanese mother Koko, who could not find the clothes she liked in London where she had settled with a daughter  and who found all her friends loved the clothes she brought back from shopping trips in Japan.

Koko also has a blog on the site that features some of the coolest Japanese items for children too, her soundtrack of a tweeting bird I found very soothing and left her page open in the background for ages while I worked.

Can anyone give up Cupcakes?

Strolling past John Lewis yesterday I was struck by this window display and how the Cupcake has so leached into our general psyche that it has become an addiction we can’t give up.

Witness the new book from the Primrose Bakery and piles of vintage looking cake stands that demand you to stop and savour.

When will we be delivered from this madness?

Stella McCartney GapKids spring 2010 collection in store now

Gap held a special breakfast event for the first day in store of the Stella McCartney range for GapKids at the 376 – 384 Oxford St flagship store.

With the chance to shop early at 8.00am before the official opening times the event allowed a selected few to shop first for the range and it seemed the larger sizes were disappearing quickly.

The packaging in decorated white boxes and special paper bags looks great and there are some very cute romantic pieces in the girls range with rufffled necks and puffed sleeves.

Also impressive are the shoes with one ribbon tied espadrille proving exceptionally popular.

There will be special activities at the Gap Oxford St flagship store on Saturday 3rd April between 10.00am and 5pm.

Caramel Baby and Child delicious spring children’s fashion

The owner of Caramel Baby and Child, Eva Karayiannis is one of London’s most stylish childrenswear retailers.

Well connected (she launched her new Ledbury Rd shop with Vogue model Natalia Vodianova) and with great taste she has been producing her own collections for the past 10 years after beginning with a small boutique in Brompton Rd stocking the likes of Marni and exclusive collaborations with other designers.

The range has its own version of English inspired classics now which change colour and fabrics to suit prevailing trends, always though there is a nod towards the vintage feel and the addition of Papillon shoes completes the retro vibe.
