Many of you must wonder what the backstage at a children’s fashion show is like.
Is it complete chaos, full of tears and tantrums?
Or is it run like a military operation with children standing in line and fearful to chat or wander away?
Neither is the answer, it is actually surprisingly stress free and relaxed, these kids are professionals, many of the models at Pitti Bimbo come from an agency in Florence and they are used to modeling and love the catwalk and dressing up. Once they hit the right age say 4 or 5 they will begin and model through to 9 or 10 so many of them will have done this a good few times before.
The mums sit and chat while a team of hair and make up take each child in turn and dress the hair, add a little blush, powder and lip gloss and then re-touch once the models are partially dressed with a final touch up at the end while they wait in line to enter the stage. The area is spacious enough for the kids to run around in a bit, for the boys to mock fight and the girls to compare hairdo’s or for both to play with gameboy consoles.
Only in the last 10 to 15 mins before the show begins are they all marshaled into a line and have to wait for the show to begin which must be the most tiring part for them!
And then its just the waiting………..

What fun to see the behind-the-scenes! Great blog. A new discovery for me.
lip gloss with olive oil is the best because it can moisturize your lips as well ~`;
